”KEEPERS OF THE PARK“: PARTICIPATORY PROJECTING AND ANTHROPOLOGICAL RETHINKING OF PLATEAU IN MILEŠEVSKA STREET, BELGRADE
Keywords:
Plateau, participatory projecting, interdisciplinary approach, anthropological place, Keepers of the ParkAbstract
This article will depict the anthropological research within transdisciplinary project based on the idea of participatory projecting. We will present the work of “Keepers of the park” initiative that carried out cleaning, reinventing and transformation of Plateau located in Vračar municipality in Belgrade, in order to use active potential of place and its users. Plateau as the common public space will be perceived as “anthropological place” and the place of identity; also, we will rethink dynamics of relatitons and interactions in the neighbourhood. We will emphasize concepts of „space of activity“, „space of gathering“, „space of moving“ and „space of happening“, which are important for planning and creating „urban hub“ at Plateau as the meeting space, space of exchange and constitution of the community. Finally, we will present the analized interviews and the timeline of the initiative activity from its beginnings in 2015 until the final excibition in May 2018. We will describe possibilities of anthropological contribution in participatory project at Plato by mapping the used and unused parts of it. Having that in mind, we will answer the question of how we see the space, who has the rights over space and under what circumstances.
