Abstract

Investigations of social relations, and first, of all, inquiries of common la, through which these relations are reflected, is still extremely significant, for it is the only way in which the global society may attain relevant data on relations within the local community, and on the bases of which it could determine the strategy of action that would have real chances in achieving the ultimate goal - integration of local communities into the globel society. This is also well illustated by the example of studying gender refations and their common law regulations in an Albanian local community, which was till now motivated only by researcher’s personal interest for the subject, and not by the needs of the global society. The latter would be, however, the only proper approach if we are tofully comprehend the ways in which it would be possible for the individual members of a local community to substitute their traditional models of behaviour with the new ones, and to accept the attitudes of the global society which would further enable their integration into wider community.
