RESEARCHES INTO CULTURAL IDENTITY IN PROLONGED TRANSITION IN SERBIA

Cultural identity is one of the theoretical keynotes in contemporary ethnology and anthropology in Serbia. Tracing the development of the notion of cultural identity in Serbian ethnology and anthropology proves tool for the discussion of basic research paradigms in this discipline in last few decades. Several research projects have been or still are dedicated to cultural identity in Serbia since the beginning of this century and researches carried on within those projects are performed in such social and cultural conditions which could also be the research matter by themselves, because those are happening as the part of a giant social, economic and cultural change known as the transition, the latter being uncompleted in Serbia, unlikely to most of the others post-socialist environments in Europe.
